We are proud to announce that we have the endorsements of LA Mayor Eric Garcetti and LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, who support Voting YES on Measure F. In addition, our own Mayor of The City of Duarte, John Fasana, gives his endorsement and full support of Measure F. Also giving their support are Duarte City Council Members Samuel Kang and Margaret Finlay. Below are several endorsement videos for your review. They provide useful information about some of the problems associated with consumer fireworks, and how Voting YES on Measure F will get a handle on these problems.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti
Eric Garcetti is a fourth-generation Angeleno and the 42nd Mayor of Los Angeles. His Agenda is focused on creating a safe, livable, and prosperous city.
Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger
Supervisor Kathryn Barger proudly serves the residents of Los Angeles County’s 5th Supervisorial District — the county’s largest — spanning 2800 square miles, which includes 22 cities and 70 unincorporated communities in the San Gabriel, San Fernando, Crescenta, Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys.
Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis
Supervisor Hilda L. Solis was sworn in as Los Angeles County Supervisor for the First District of Los Angeles County on December 1, 2014. She was confirmed on February 24, 2009, becoming the first Latina to serve in the United States Cabinet.
A nationally recognized leader on the environment, Supervisor Solis became the first woman to receive the John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award in 2000 for her pioneering work on environmental justice issues. Her California environmental justice legislation, enacted in 1999, was the first of its kind in the nation to become law.
City of Duarte Mayor John Fasana
Mayor John Fasana was elected to the Duarte City Council in November 1987 and reelected in 1991, 1995, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2011. He was also reappointed in 2015. Mayor John Fasana has promoted Duarte’s interests in transportation, community services, and environmental protection.
Duarte City Council Member Margaret Finlay
Margaret Finlay is a six-term mayor, and was Chairperson for the successful 1998 Measure B School Bond Campaign that has been improving aging Duarte Schools. In addition to this, she also helped to expand Senior Citizen transportation and provided more warm meals delivered to household Seniors.
Margaret Finlay has been a long time Duarte City Council Member and she, like so many fine Duarte residents, is in favor of Measure F. She opts for cleaning up the city and enjoying public displays run by professionals.
All of these fine leaders understand that Voting YES on Measure F isn’t about taking away ANYTHING except for the crime and irresponsibility which is associated with consumer fireworks. The smart alternative is to replace this unmanageable burden with a safe and controlled public fireworks display on the Fourth of July. This is an alternative that ALL of the City of Duarte can enjoy, and not just those selfish few who refuse to acknowledge their own elephant in the room.Come November 6th, please Vote YES on Measure F!
